JOB OBJECTIVE:

Implementation/Delivery of the business targets in GHPL’s exploration & development portfolio and new ventures in geological discipline by providing support to the senior management staff

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Provide geological support for the following:

• Prepare summary and monitor daily geological/drilling activities ongoing in assigned exploration & D&PLs
• Petrel based interpretation and generation of facies maps, isopach maps, porosity maps and regional well correlation for delineation/evaluation of prospects within the Farm-In/new venture blocks to mitigate the risks associated with prospects/leads
• Well planning process to optimize well location and design using a variety of geological and geophysical data
• Petrophysical evaluation of well log data to identify potential hydrocarbon bearing zones for perforations
• Petroleum system risk assessment to identify potential areas for investment
• Depositional model evaluations based on sequence stratigraphy to identify potential sequences (sand bodies) for future drilling plans.
• Volumetrics/Resource estimation based on reservoir characteristics to mitigate the risk associated with exploration and production
• Coordinate with the geophysical and reservoir teams to define optimum reservoir characteristics of the identified prospects
• Technical review/Inhouse geological evaluations for exploration/ appraisal/development well locations optimization
• Provide geological feedback to reservoir and production staff etc for recommending/implementing drilling, production and reservoir management plans
• Perform/review technical/geological approvals of work program related to drilling wells, declaration of commerciality (DOC), Field Development Plan (FDP) etc
• Participate in the Technical and Operating Committee Meetings, and workshops/ presentations to review the work program in different joint ventures;
• Providing support in the preparation of yearly & long term investment budgets
• Completion of all internal approvals in an efficient manner including internal documentation
• Able to perform Static Model’s QC in an efficient mannerAny another job assigned by the management

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:

Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum: 16 years of Education with Bachelors or Master’s degree in geology with specialization in petroleum,  structural  geology or sedimentology or relevant field

Minimum Experience:

06 years active experience with 4 years in prospect generation and evaluation, Basin modeling, well site geological operations in in in an upstream E&P operated company (preferably multinational)

COMPETENCIES:

• Sound Technical background
• Hands on experience with E&P Geoscience applications like Petrel, REP, Petrosys, Decision space etc.
• Hands on experience on Static Modeling
• Cross discipline integration with Geophysics, Petrophysics, Reservoir Engineering, Drilling etc
• Excellent communication & presentation skills
• Sound understanding of E&P business including PCA
• Ability to deliver under tight timelines
• Team Player
