Deputy Manager Geophysics

JOB OBJECTIVE:

Implementation/Delivery of the business targets in GHPL’s exploration & development portfolio and new ventures in geophysical discipline by providing support to the senior management staff

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Provide geophysical support for the following:

• Seismic/Gravity/Magnetic acquisition and processing projects support to senior management staff
• Assisting in planning of projects including contract award/AFE review/approvals before project’s kick off
• Monitoring of ongoing Seismic/Gravity/Magnetic acquisition & processing projects including parameter testing to ensure quality delivery of the projects within approved work program/budget for assigned joint ventures
• Petrel based 2D/3D seismic interpretations, well location delineation and data integration. Preparation of the complete geophysical analysis including report writing/presentation with analysis/recommendations
• In-house seismic interpretation/prospect generation and attribute analysis studies for identification/ evaluation of drillable/potential exploration/appraisal/development wells under the supervision of senior geophysicists
• Evaluation of exploration, appraisal and development well location and well planning of proposals in coordination with geological and reservoir team members
• Geological and reservoir teams to define main characteristics of identified prospects in terms of trap definition, reservoir parameters, expected exploratory reserves and risk assessment
• Participate in Technical and Operating Committee Meetings, workshops and technical presentations to review the work programs in different joint ventures;
• Geophysical support for static models of oil/gas/condensate fields
• Providing support in the preparation of yearly & long term investment budgets
• Completion of all internal approvals in an efficient manner including internal documentation

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:

Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum: Minimum: 16 years of Education with Bachelors or Master’s degree in Degree in Geophysics or relevant field.

Minimum Experience:

06 years’ experience with 4 years as an interpretation geophysicist, with sound knowledge of acquisition and processing of 2D/3D Seismic data in in an upstream E&P operated company (preferably multinational)
